Old tyres become like new ones! Know the identification and dangers of fake tyres

Beware of fake tyres! Junk dealers are making old tyres look like new – Vaahan Bazar's warning

Have you bought a "brand new" tyre at a low price? It may not be real but a fraud. Many junk dealers and local shopkeepers are making old worn out tyres look like new and selling them to customers – and this can be a threat to your life.

🔍 How is an old tyre made like new?

The old tyre is cleaned

A new tread pattern is created by digging it from the middle with a hot blade

It is polished by applying tar, black paint or engine oil on top

The brand name is painted so that the tyre looks real

⚠️ Dangerous consequences:

The tyre may burst at high speed

The vehicle may skid or there may be problems in braking

The insurance claim may be rejected because the tyre is not up to standard

🛠️ How to identify a fake tyre:

The tread pattern is not uniform or balanced

Cracks are visible on the side

The manufacturing year of the tyre is very old

Artificial shine or smell is felt on the tyre

🚗 Vaahan Bazar's advice:

Always buy tyres from a trusted dealer. While buying a new tyre, do check the manufacturing year, tread depth and branding. Some cheap tyres can make not just your vehicle but your life cheap as well.
