Do you know what airbags are made of? Know the technology behind it

What are airbags made of and how do they work? Know the complete details

Whenever we buy a car, airbags come up as an important safety feature. But have you ever wondered what this airbag is made of and how it opens in seconds?

Airbags are usually made from very strong nylon fabric. The specialty of this fabric is that it is lightweight, durable and capable of withstanding pressure. To make it more secure, silicone coating is done so that it does not tear due to gas pressure and heat.

When the speed of a vehicle suddenly stops or there is a collision, the sensors installed in the car become active. These sensors send a signal due to which nitrogen or argon gas is filled inside the airbag in a few milliseconds. This causes the airbag to inflate rapidly and protects the driver and passenger from head, chest and neck injuries.

This entire process takes just 0.03 seconds, but this very moment can save someone's life.

Vaahan Bazaar advises: Always check the number of airbags, their condition and quality when buying a car.
